Tyree began CrossFit in January 2015 after many years of weightlifting. Weightlifting helped prepare Tyree for middle school football and loved the preparation that was involved just as much as the sport itself. Exercise has become such a large part of Tyree’s life; he is currently pursuing his degree in Exercise Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Tyree believes CrossFit is great for all individuals, whether it is a 14 year old who is just beginning to exercise, or a 45 year old former athlete who just wants to be active again. CrossFit is a fun way to better yourself as well as join an awesome community. Exercising and suffering alongside other individuals builds a bond that can’t be found everywhere, so while getting fit, you will also gain friendships.
What Tyree loves about coaching CrossFit is watching athletes achieve things that they never felt would be possible. Since CrossFit is "constantly varied", no matter what your background is, there will be obstacles to achieve. Whether it is a 315Lb clean, handstand walks or a pull-up, everyone struggles with something and by putting in the work, everyone can achieve their goal.
