South Tryon Athletic Center – the official Carolina Crush Training
Facility. Whether you’re a new athlete or a CrossFit veteran, our coaches
are dedicated and committed to training everyone using positive encouragement

Devon has been part of the CrossFit community for the past six years. He has always been interested in physical fitness. Starting at a young age, football and wrestling were his passion. However, it wasn't until Devon found CrossFit that he knew he had discovered his niche.
Thea Winick joins STAX with diverse and extensive experience in both the general fitness and CrossFit communities. As General Manager of three multi-purpose fitness faciities, she oversaw all daily opertations, sales, marketing, budgeting and staff management. Then in 2007, Thea had a sense that CrossFit was on to something!
STAX Charlotte is excited to add Matthew (Matt) Lee to our coaching staff. A certified Level 1 coach since 2013, Matt began his coaching career at CrossFit Reignited in Wilmington, NC where he served as head coach.
A CrossFit certified yoga and mobility expert and Owner of Moga Charlotte. Focusing on flexibility, lean muscle and mentality. Emily has participated in two CrossFit Games.
As a lifelong athlete, Emily has played a variety of sports, including Division I collegiate soccer where she captained the Virginia Tech Women's Soccer Team.

Our novice classes provide you with the fundamentals and getting you familiar with basic mobility, stretching skills and drills. In these classes you can learn a strong base of technique and competency.
Our professional classes provide a competitive atmosphere opposed to an instructional setting. This class is reserved for athletes participating in competitive events and are looking to train for an upcoming competition.
Experience classes primarily focus on developing to an advanced level, to enhance your speed and strength using powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, training and gymnastic centered movements.
This isn't a CrossFit class - no heavy lifting or intimidation, just inspiration, motivation, and a constantly developing community for female athletes.

The STAX Fundamentals program is geared towards those with little or no prior
CrossFit experience . Our program consists of three hour long classes, which we
recommend you take in order, although we will do our best to accommodate any
conflicts you may have in your schedule.
STAX has a very talented and experienced team of coaches who are
available for private training sessions. Whatever your needs and preferences are
for getting started, our STAX coaches are available to help you take the first
