CrossFit Programming

STAX offers three programming levels: Competitors, Performance, and Fitness. It is important to note that not every workout demands all three distinctions (such as a benchmark or Hero WODs.) However, many of our WODs will detail the movements or loads associated with each version of that day's workout.

Competitors

Our Competitors category is intended for athletes who are very skilled, proficient and efficient at all weightlifting, Olympic lifting and gymnastic movements. They should be able to perform all versions of muscle ups, handstand walks and strict handstand push-ups. They should also be able to move heavy loads quickly and posses a large cardiovascular capacity. These are CrossFit regional level athletes who train and compete year round.

Performance

Our Performance WOD movements, skill requirements and loads are intended for those athletes who are seeking (and capable of performing) a fairly advanced CrossFit programming track. These WODs are appropriate for athletes who are rather proficient at most movements, but may still be working towards improving their lifting techniques or gymnastic skills. Workout prescriptions reflect the kind of movements/skill and load requirements an athlete could expect to see in a competitive environment.

Fitness

Our "Fitness" track are for those athletes who are CrossFitting for improved health and quality of life. Of course, it is also appropriate for those who are working on more advanced movements, skills and loads but haven't mastered those requirements quite yet.

There are always variations,as well as numerous scaling options, for our Fitness track.

The purpose of these three distinctions in our programming is to give the STAX athlete a more accurate idea of the movement, skill and load requirements for highly/moderately competitive and recreational CrossFitters.

For the purpose of utilizing our WODIFY system, athletes should score their workouts under either the Rx+ [Competitors] category Rx [Performance] category or [Fitness] category.
