Carla has been in the training industry for the past nine years, and has countless experiences with a vast array of clientele, ages, skills and training levels.
Carla first entered the world of athletics as a young gymnast. During high school, she grew into a multi-sport athlete, adding cross-country, pole vaulting, track, and triathlons. Over the course of her young athletic career, she was the captain of her gymnastics team and won the Mid-Atlantic youth female champion. This athletic passion combined with her desire for higher education brought her to Appalachian State University where she majored in Nutrition with a minor in Exercise Science. Here, she quickly became the head personal trainer at the student recreation facility.
Immediately following her undergraduate studies, she was accepted into a double internship/master’s degree program at Florida State University to study Sports Nutrition. This time afforded her experiences working in a multitude of environments such as: the level one trauma Tampa General Hospital, The Athlete Training Table of FSU, and EXOS performance company.
Professionally Carla has built an exceptional resume amassing experience at reputable institutions such as EXOS and Sport HQ. During this time, she trained and counseled a range of athletes ranging from middle school to high caliber collegiate athletes in a multitude of sports including: football, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, track, gymnastics, and rowing. Further, she has trained and counseled athletes already participating at the professional level in their given sport. These would include but are not limited to the NFL, NHL, MiLB, MLB, NASL.
Her passion is rooted in helping others achieve their fitness goals. Through this passion, she is always looking for new techniques to motivate her clients and ensure the most optimal path to achieving their highest potential. To Carla, she has not succeeded until you have reached your fitness goal, no matter your starting point.
